FYNING UNPLUGGED

FYNING UNPLUGGED chairs are made entirely by hand using traditional methods and with no power tools at all. Local wood, typically from scrub clearance or wind fall,  is  split and initially worked in its green (unseasoned) state and shaped with draw-knife and spokeshave or on a pole-lathe and seasoned naturally before assembly.

The design of the chairs is influenced by the natural form of the wood allowing the use of lower grade wood that would be rejected for mass-production methods and would probably end up on a bonfire.

Converting this timber into unique and beautiful chairs locks away the carbon these trees sucked out of the air in their lifetime.
